| The CIEH Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace is
based on the Foundation Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace,
but with new and updated content, including new sections on working at
heights, transport, noise and vibration.
This course is designed to provide essential knowledge and understanding
of health and safety for employees working in any sector of business,
whether manufacturing, commerce, public sector or the service industries.
Good health and safety standards rely on employers and employees working
together to reduce risks and prevent accidents and ill health arising
from accidents.
Employers have a responsibility to provide safe and healthy workplace
conditions as well as safe systems and methods for workplace activities.
An essential element of any safe system is the attitude of employees,
and this demands proper training in the basics of health and safety, as
well as specific training for individual tasks.
This course will enable employees contribute to any health & safety
management system. In particular the programme will enable them to:-
On completion of the training programme and assessment will enable candidates
to understand:
• Health and safety requirements placed on employers and employees.
• Hazard and risk and the main cause of harm to workers.
• Health, safety and welfare provisions in the workplace.
• The importance of following safe systems of work, procedures and
rules.
• Hazards and controls in respect of both safety and occupational
health risks.
• How their own actions can reduce risks to health and safety.
Course duration: 6 hours plus exam time
of 1 hour, candidates must answer 20/30 correct answers to be awarded
the certificate.
